It seems a particularly good year for mushrooms this year.
I don’t live out in the countryside, just an average suburb of one England’s main cities, with row upon row of red brick terraces, a railway and a canal, much like many Northern clusters.
And so I was especially delighted to catch this little lot on a small green space at the end of my street. Look closely and you’ll see tiny teeth marks.
Wish I’d had some handy mushroom expert with me to tell me which, if any, I could bring home and cook.
More evidence (as if it were needed) of a rich crop this year, was spotted in Gillian’s Fabric Nation blog; from Michelle out and about at Bodnant; and some amazing penny buns found by Nonsuch.
