When I decided to crochet a baby blanket for a friend's little one, I had all the usual dilemmas. Sew or crochet? Which pattern? Which yarn.
In the end I figured sticking with one colour and a simple stitch would get it finished with as little delay and angst as possible. After a bit of a mooch round Ravelry I settled on this. It's quick to pick up and adapt to whatever size or yarn you want. So off I went. I'm now 8 balls, 16 hours and 24,000 stitches in. Great! But...
I'm not sure it's right. After much thought I think it might be the colour.
I need your help here.
What do you think of this colour?
Is it a bit too drab?
Or is it soft and subtle (as it was in my mind when I bought it.)?
Next question: I was thinking if I do stick with it, maybe backing it and a little bit of quilting might solve the problem. I've found some great tutorials on backing and quilting knit or crochet here...
Would that save it?
And if so which of the fabrics below would you suggest I should back it with?
Or... should I cut my losses and stop know, choose more yarn, a different pattern, and leave this one behind?

White with red spots and cornflowers?

Vintage white with 30s style flowers?

Black jersey with red and pink stars?

Or either of these - a stretchy white with raised minky type flowers; or the vintage cotton polka dot and daisy print?
